David James Hoffman & Yampapaya Tribe

 

 

I had never really heard of David James Hoffman and the Yampapaya Tribe, but they seem to be very popular in China, especially with people in the Chinese music industry. I shot their show, and it was okay, but it was difficult to shoot because they used multiple LEDs throughout the show with pure colors: red, green, and blue. A music photographer’s nightmare and very hard to correct in post.

 

 

 

 

The pure LED color lighting meant that many photos had to be turned black and white. I hate LED lighting but it is something you got to live with here in China.

 

 

I shot only three songs in this set. The show was ok, I enjoyed watching the show but I am still a little confused as to why they are so popular in China.

That is all from this weekend. Huge rains meant that most shows were canceled this weekend or were flooded out. I am hoping for better weather next weekend.
